Welcome to the Kitty Corner!

We love cats, and we have 6 of them... After living in a house with a small garden with little place to roam, they are all making the most of the freedom they now have to explore. We all go walking on the hill behind our house, where there is a lovely big pond, a small stream and lots of heather, grass and other vegetation to explore. Being hunters, you can imagine all the things they have caught but now that they have all been collared and "belled", the rodent population stands a better chance of survival! Let me introduce you to them all.

Pixie is small, slinky and full of character. She may be small in stature but she is a huge tiger just waiting to get out! She entered our lives as a small kitten in July 1998. Her skills include stretching, squirming on the ground at your feet, tripping you up, losing her collar, asserting herself as Top Cat and beating up any intruding cats.

Tiggie is a beautiful tabby lady, she arrived a few months after Pixie as a fully grown cat. When she first arrived, she spent all her time hiding behind the curtains growling! She was unwanted by her previous owners but she's very much loved and wanted by us. She is very chatty and will meet you at the door to greet you. Her hobbies are sleeping on my pillow (if she gets the chance), lying on her back with her paws in the air, and growling at Sheri. She has quite taken to hill walking and is willing to do this whatever the weather!

Sheri, short for Sheridan, joined our little family just in time for Christmas '98. She was adopted from the Scottish SPCA in Hamilton. A bit of a round cat, she is now getting plenty of exercise and although she is still very fond of eating, she is doing very well on her weight-loss program. Sheri is very laid-back and it takes some serious persuasion to get her out of bed, but I think hiking is fast becoming a favourite activity.

And here are our three half-Persian kittens, although one can hardly call them kittens now! They were born on December 12, 1998. Their mother was a black and white moggie named Georgia, and their father was a huge ginger and white Persian named Gizmo.

Cinnamon is the dainty little lady, she has the cutest little face, with her little black nose and a ginger spot on her chin. She loves sitting on top of the kitchen cupboard, looking down on whoever happens to be in the kitchen. Unfortunately she is a kitchen-counter prowler, and although we are trying to break her of the habit, she still manages to get into the butter if she gets the chance!

Nutmeg is the overly affectionate, nutty one. She simply can't get enough love and attention, she will rub against you and meow until you pick her up just to keep her quiet! She loves Pixie and will do almost anything to sit as close to her as possible, although Pixie does not always welcome this attention. She is an excellent hunter, I think her colouring helps her a lot!

Aramis is the only male, and he is looking really stunning now that he is getting older. He has developed a ruff around his neck and jowls on his cheeks, and with his amber eyes he looks quite fierce. But he is just a big softy, and with his very thick, soft fur and huge paws, he is like a teddy-bear! He loves nothing better than to be picked up and cuddled, lying like a floppy ragdoll in my arms.
